Rankings, not opinions

Most college football rankings come from committees, polls, or gut feel. NovaKingSports doesn't vote — it calculates. Every team rating comes from a model built on actual game results: scores, schedules, and margins, run through the same process for every team, every week.

That means no preseason reputation carrying a team all year, no bias toward historically popular programs, and no committee in a room deciding who "deserves" a spot. If the numbers say a team is ranked 12th, it's because 12th is what the results support.

Right now, that model covers FBS college football. The plan is to bring the same approach to other sports — the ratings engine doesn't care whether it's scoring touchdowns or three-pointers.

NovaKingSports is an independent project, built and maintained by one person who thinks sports rankings should show their work.
